Update on the Week
- This week I went to the gym THREE TIMES and ran outside twice. I think this is my most embarrassing goal to write about, but I think it’s really essential to hold onto the fitness patterns I established back in High School. For a long time, I thought it would just develop into a sort of instinctual habit, but it appears that isn’t going to happen. I guess I’ll just have to continue being really intentional about it.
- I started and finished F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby this week. I love following up a heavy read with something short and sweet. It was different from what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it (I know you love these in depth, carefully constructed book reviews). I think I’m going to read Catch-22 next.
- I feel like this was a somewhat bland week with my cooking. I made a few new things, but nothing to write home about. My favorite dishes were things I’ve made before that I put a new twist on. I made two variations on the french toast sandwich (one with a nectarine filling, one with raspberry), some pasta bianco (this gets better every time I make it), and one of my all time favorite quick prep meals, roasted chicken breasts wrapped in pancetta with leeks and thyme. I also continued my experimentations with cooked fruit with a lovely baked pear dessert with a walnut cream dressing.
